Blood sampling

Your blood contains a wealth of medical information that assists your doctor in making a diagnosis. Through blood tests (also known as phlebotomy), we can assess whether organs such as your heart, kidneys, or liver are functioning properly and detect any abnormalities. Your doctor will refer you to a VieCuri blood collection point for this procedure. Remember to bring your identification and health insurance card.

Scheduling an Appointment

At VieCuri, blood sampling is by appointment only. You can schedule your appointment through the patient portal, mijnVieCuri, at www.mijnviecuri.nl. If you're unable to make an appointment online, please call the VieCuri call center at (077) 320 55 55, available Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Preparation for Your Appointment

  • Identification: Always bring a valid ID and your health insurance card.
  • Referral Form: If you've received a paper lab form, bring it to your appointment. If the form is in mijnVieCuri, you can show it on your device; printing is not necessary.
  • Fasting: Some blood tests require fasting. Confirm with your doctor if this applies to you. Fasting typically means no eating, drinking, or smoking 8 hours before your appointment, though a small amount of water is allowed.
